Our Story

Our founder, Michael, was disappointed with his activity output from his Apple Watch. With his job having him desk-bound for up to 10 hours a day, Michael had a hard time closing his rings. To boost his activity and hit his fitness goals, he joined a co-rec soccer league after work.

After researching, Michael couldn't find any soft protection for his Apple Watch and decided to create his own. Years into his research and product development, Michael discovered D3O, a company producing soft padded, lightweight materials providing the best impact protection and shock absorption for a wide array of consumer goods. He reached out to them with the designs for his products and they created "the world's best impact protection for your smartwatch".

Founder

Michael Flatley is the founder of Moving Bodies Forward. He has a 15-year career in finance and founded a non-profit called Books That Heal, which helps kids with cancer and other chronic diseases write their own children’s books to become published authors. Since its inception, Michael has helped to write and publish 50 books.

Michael started Moving Bodies Forward to solve a problem that he encountered: there was no safe and easy way to protect your watch during training and contact sports. Frustrated with not being able to wear his watch during pick-up and rec games, Michael wanted to make sure fellow athletes got credit for their workouts and were able to track their health metrics during the times in which they were most active. Michael uses his bands every day, whether at the gym, playing soccer, or protecting his watch from his one-year daughter.
